Gay Head Station, Massachusetts – image: 24" x 11.5" – framed: 34" x 22" |
|
Standing atop the color-streaked cliffs at Gay Head, the Gay Head Station is the oldest of the several lighthouses on Martha’s Vineyard. Painted here as it once looked in1890, for all that remains today is the tower sending out it’s alternating red and white beams of light. John F. Kennedy Junior’s plane spiraled into the sea some four miles from this beacon in 2001.
