The Pumpkin Island lighthouse was built in 1855 to mark Eggemoggin Reach, a busy channel separating the mainland from Deer Island and Little Deer Isle. The white brick tower stands at 28 feet in height. The light station was decommissioned in 1933 and is now privately owned, but a view of the lighthouse can be had from the mainland.
