Mukilteo, a native american word meaning “Good Spot for Camping”. The Lighthouse Service decided that Mukilteo was also a good location for a navigation light to guide vessels through the Puget Sound and into the port of Everett. Built in 1906, this 30 - foot octagonal wooden tower is located just south of Everett, Washington and is one of Puget Sound’s many ‘street lights”. Today it is a landmark seen by many commuters and tourists who take the ferry to scenic Whidbey Island. |
