The whitewashed rubblestone tower stands 100 feet above sea level on the cliffs of Eagle Island, Maine. The light station was established in 1838 on Eagle Island in East Penobscot Bay not far from Deer Island, Maine. It's original fourth-order Fresnel lens was replaced by an automated plastic optic in 1963.
