WATERCOLOR BASICS: FALL THEME Instructor - Thomas Needham

Learn the basics or continue to develop your skills in this versatile medium. This class will help students acquire confidence in the application of wet into wet and graded washes, transparent layering, dry brush, scratching techniques and the use of masking. Individual guidance along with a step-by-step approach will provide the foundation needed for success. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

Learn how to capture the beauty of the fall season in transparent watercolors. Individual instruction will provide learning opportunities for students and watercolorists of all skill levels. Students will enjoy the opportunity to learn the basics or continue to develop skills in this versatile medium with a full-time watercolorist with more than twenty-five years of professional experience. The class will help you acquire confidence in the application of modern watercolor techniques such as wet into wet washes, graduated washes and the use of masking fluid. Demonstrations, individual guidance, and a step-by-step approach will provide the foundation needed to achieve exciting results in this medium. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

STILL LIFE WATERCOLOR Instructor - Thomas Needham
6 Mondays beginning October 27, 2008 (Class will not meet November 24, 2008) 6:30 – 9 pm

Beginning and experienced students will explore a variety of approaches to still life watercolor painting. Curriculum will focus on composition, lighting, value, color and texture. Professional watercolor techniques including washes, layering of color and the use of masking will be demonstrated by this capable instructor. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

HOLIDAY GREETING CARD WORKSHOP Instructor - Thomas Needham
2 Saturdays beginning November 1, 2008 10 a.m. – 2 pm

This workshop is your opportunity to design and produce unique holiday greetings cards that will provide a special memory for the recipients. Participants will paint a seasonal scene or still life in watercolor. The instructor will then assist students in the process of converting the finished artwork into a personalized holiday card. Please bring a brown bag lunch to class. A supply list will be provided upon registration.
